Driver dies in fiery crash into Canyon Lakes Golf Course tree
A driver died Thursday afternoon when their unmarked white work van plowed into a tree at the Canyon Lakes Golf Course and burst into flames.
The wreck happened about 3:40 p.m. on West Canyon Lakes Drive, near West Hildebrand Boulevard.
Canyon Lakes was closed at Hildebrand while police investigated what happened. Driver are asked to avoid the area.
Police confirmed there was only one person in the van when it crashed near the 8th fairway on the west side of the Canyon Lakes housing community and golf course.
