The Tri-City Herald is searching for the prettiest kitty in the Tri-Cities area, and we need your help crowning a winner.

Readers living in Benton and Franklin counties recently sent in photos of their feline friends to our cutest cat contest.

After an initial round of voting, five furry finalists remain in the running. However, only one purr-fect contestant can win the title of cutest cat — and a feature story on the Herald’s website.

Now it’s up to you. Rally your friends, family members and fellow cat lovers to vote for your favorites and zero in on a winner.

How long will voting last in Herald pet photo contest?

Round 2 of voting is underway and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27.

The winner will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 5, on Tri-CityHerald.com. We plan to make that top cat the star of their very own feature story filled with adorable photos.

Cutest cat and dog contests are taking place at more than 20 McClatchy newspapers across the United States.

The winners from each market will automatically be entered into a second contest to determine the Cutest Cat and Cutest Dog in the country, launching Monday, Nov. 10.
