A family is asking for help getting their daughter’s body back to Virginia after she died in a Pasco car crash last weekend.

Dairin Y. Euceda Aguilera, 22, was heading home to Chatilly, Va., when her boyfriend veered into the path of an oncoming truck on July 3.

“My daughter was on the way home from Seattle, Wash., to see her grandmother who was coming from Honduras to spend time with her family,” said Nury Lidy Aguilera in a GoFundMe post showing Dairin at her 21st birthday party.

She was a passenger in the Toyota Scion that was turning onto Highway 395 from Lewis Street about 4:30 p.m., said Washington State Patrol investigators.

Franklin County Coroner Curtis McGary said a local funeral home is helping her family arrange to get her body back across the country.

“Any donation, no matter how small, can help,” Aguilera wrote. “Please, it would mean a lot if you can keep us in your prayers.” Donations can be made at bit.ly/AguileraFundraiser.

Investigators haven’t determined what caused the Scion’s driver, Alejandro Osorio Perez, 20, of Aurora, Colo., to cross the double yellow center line which separates drivers exiting Highway 395 onto Lewis Street on the north side of the blue bridge.

Speed, alcohol and drugs weren’t factors in the crash, WSP Trooper Daniel Mosqueda told the Tri-City Herald.

Osorio Perez was treated at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland and released.

The Kennewick driver of the GMC pickup was not seriously hurt.
