A young woman died in a crash in Pasco that shut down traffic on Highway 395 near the blue bridge Thursday afternoon.

Both drivers were injured.

Dairin Euceda Aguilera, 22, of Chantilly, Va., was a passenger in a Toyota Scion that was being driven west on Lewis Street just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

As the Toyota was turning onto Highway 395 to the south, it collided with a GMC Sierra pickup being driven by Michael S. Morrison, 35, of Kennewick, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Morrison’s pickup was taking the Lewis Street exit from the highway, according to the WSP.

Aguilera, who was wearing a seat belt, died before she could be taken to a hospital.

The driver of the car she was riding in, Alejandro Osorio Perez, 20, of Aurora, Colo., was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland.

Morrison, who was not wearing a seat belt, also was hurt, but was not taken to a hospital, according to the WSP.

The WSP has not issued any charges in the crash, which it attributed to improper lane usage by Osorio Perez, according to a WSP report. No drugs or alcohol were involved, it said.

The Washington Department of Transportation reported Highway 395 had been reopened at about 5:20 p.m.

A serious injury collision was reported in the southbound lanes of Highway 395 near Lewis Street.
