LEGO lovers rejoice — one of the largest roving fan shows dedicated to those colorful, quirky little bricks is coming to the Tri-Cities.

Brick Convention promises to bring “all of the creative hands-on, minds-on fun of LEGO building and experiences” to the HAPO Center in Pasco this fall.

The family friendly event will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12.

Expect to see sprawling LEGO displays, intricate mosaics and retired sets — from botanicals, to pirate ships to iconic Star Wars sets.

Attendees will also meet brick masters and professional artists, and can purchase hard-to-find sets and figurines from vendors. Families will be able to build with thousands of LEGO bricks at the hands-on brick pit.

The event also will feature multiple creators, authors and content creators.

LEGO bricks are small toys that interlock to one another. Thanks to their various colors and shapes, matched with media franchise partnerships, the bricks sell billions of dollars worth across the world annually.

The 90-year-old company is still family owned to this day. The name “LEGO” is an abbreviation of two Danish words, “leg godt,” which translates to “play well” in English.

Tickets for the family friendly event start at $15 online and will sell fast. The public can purchase tickets at the door for $20.

Tickets are nonrefundable. Children 2 and younger are admitted free.

Brick Convention bills itself as the “ultimate LEGO fan event — built by LEGO fans, for LEGO fans.” A portion of ticket sales from Brick Convention will benefit Creations for Charity, an all-volunteer nonprofit that busy new LEGO sets for underprivileged kids around the world during the holiday season.
