Holiday events abound in Tri-Cities. Over 100 things to do, from bazaars to free concerts

It’s holiday season in Tri-Cities. Now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are over, families are counting down for holiday breaks or rushing to finish shopping for gifts.

The last month of the year can fly by quickly, with so many people running around. Whether you need to stop by holiday markets to close out your shopping list, or you’re craving some entertainment that isn’t holiday-themed, there’s much to do in Tri-Cities this December.

Holiday events in Tri-Cities

Many local businesses and organizations are hosting special events for the holiday season, some spanning several days.

Numerous wineries in Benton City are taking part in Holiday Fest 2024 between Dec. 6 and 8. Across over a dozen wineries, you can stop by several markets, taste wine, take part in an ugly sweater contest and more.

If you want to take a break from shopping, consider taking the family to a show. The Richland Players have weekend performances of “A Good Old-Fashioned Big Family Christmas,” and The Academy of Children’s Theatre has several dates for “A Christmas Story: The Musical.”

Additionally, you can stop by the Columbia Basin College CPCCo Planetarium for a free “The Star of Bethlehem” presentation the weekend before Christmas. The hour-long presentation features the star events from Jesus’ birth on the planetarium dome.

Winter Wonderland in Richland kicks off this weekend, with the John Dam Plaza and HAPO Community Stage being lit Friday night. Festivities start at 5:30 p.m.

The Christmas Lighted Boat Parade starts at 6 p.m. on Dec. 6 and 7 under the Cable Bridge at Clover Island, and travels up river.
