Update: Columbia Park motorcycle crash victim identified as 21-year-old
A 21-year-old Moses Lake motorcyclist was identified as the victim of Friday night’s fatal crash in Kennewick.
Elias Cervantes Jr. was driving his motorcycle at high speeds back and forth on the two-lane road through Columbia Park, said a Kennewick police news release.
He lost control about 6:50 p.m. and was thrown from the cycle. He hit a concrete sign on the stretch between the skate park and the east boat launch and was unconscious when emergency crews arrived.
Police and fire department medics provided first aid but he died at the park, said the release.
Cervantes was the second person to die Friday in the Tri-Cities in a motorcycle wreck.
The first died when a motorcycle and car collided on Bombing Range Road in West Richland just before 1 p.m.
West Richland police have not released an update on that fatal collision.
