Thrift shop to close after 7 years in Tri-Cities. Plus, dirt kart center calls it quits
A Kennewick thrift boutique is closing, a dirt track racing center is now a church and a new bubble tea and coffee shop are coming to a prominent spot in south Richland.
Here are the latest openings and closings in the Tri-Cities area.
Thrift store closing
Seattle Children’s Bargain Boutique, 2810 W. Kennewick Ave., Kennewick.
Seattle Children’s Hospital is closing its Kennewick boutique for good on March 25, just shy of its seventh year in the Tri-Cities.
The store is one of five statewide that support the hospital. The store is closing after its lease expired and the hospital opted not to renew it, the store manager said.
All merchandise is 50% off through the end of the week and 75% off for the next two weeks.
The boutique opened in June 2016 in the spot near Highway 395, near the Kennewick Rite Aid store.
Openings
Taestea Boba, 2150 Keene Road, Richland
Brandi Dunlap is renovating space in the former Ethos Bakery & Cafe spot in south Richland for Taestea Boba, which will serve both boba and coffee, as well as bubble waffles. Dunlap said she hopes to open by April 1.

Ethos closed the location in November 2022.
The popular bakery is temporarily consolidating its restaurant operations at its spot in The Parkway in Richland while it awaits completion of its new outlet at Queensgate and Keene Road.
Legacy Church, 2203 B W. Fourth Ave., Kennewick
Legacy Church, aka Iglesia Legado, has replaced DirtKart at Kennewick’s Midtown Plaza. DirtKart, an indoor dirt cart track, that opened in June 2021.
Ambience Investment Group, the property’s owner, submitted plans to renovate the interior to the city of Kennewick in late January. The renovations includes new interior walls.
Iglesia Legado offers Spanish language services at noon on Sundays and will begin offering services in English in March.
Cafenated, 507 Ninth St., Benton City
Cafenated will offer Benton City residents a new place to gather, relax and, of course, enjoy coffee.
