A local developer is beginning work on a new duplex community in Pasco.

Sandy Flats will be an 84-unit community off Sandifur Parkway.

Plans filed with the city of Pasco show the duplexes will be 2-bedroom, 2-bath homes coming in at 1,084 square feet each.

The community will be nestled between the end of Bedford Road and Midland Road on four current plots totaling about 7 acres, just south of the Broadmoor Estates subdivision.

Site preparation is underway for an 84 unit duplex project called Sandy Flats by Big Sky Developers north of Sandifur Parkway between Midland Lane and Bedford Street in west Pasco.

Big Sky

Big Sky one of the largest developers of new communities in west Pasco. They have built several north of Burns Road already, and have more in the works for the Broadmoor development. They were the first developer to file plans for grading in the area.

The first of those projects is The Dunes Subdivision, which will be 222 lots on the southeast side of the Burns-Dent intersection.

Included in the permit and environmental impact requests for The Dunes is a look at plans for a future subdivision to the west of it called Solstice, which would be about twice the size.

Big Sky also has recently submitted paperwork for subdivisions to the north of the development near the Columbia River.

The city of Pasco is projecting about 7,000 new homes in the development over the next 10 years, and nearly 50,000 new residents in west Pasco.

The city council approved annexation along the northern city limits last week.
