Pasco man is apparent drowning victim found in Snake River near park

Investigators are still trying to figure out how a 63-year-old Pasco man end up dying in the Snake River on Saturday.

James O. Lick’s body was discovered at the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers near Sacajawea Historical State Park on Saturday afternoon, Pasco police and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said.

While investigators believe he went into the Snake River on Saturday, they have not determined how that happened, Coroner Curtis McGary said.

He apparently was alone at the time.

The coroner is working with Franklin County investigators to determine if an autopsy is needed. It appears that he drowned.

Foul play is not suspected in the death, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook police.

Franklin County deputies also are investigating a body found in Scooteney Reservoir on Sunday by some children who were fishing. That person has not been identified.
