Body spotted floating by Sacajawea park near Pasco

The Pasco Fire Department pulled a man’s body from the confluence of the Snake and Columbia rivers near Sacajawea Park mid-afternoon Saturday.

Boaters reportedly spotted the body floating in the Snake River and reported it about 2 p.m.

Pasco Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriffs Office responded along with the fire department.

Franklin County Coroner Curtis McGary said the body had been identified Saturday evening and his family was being notified. No name had yet been made public.

The death appeared to have happened on Saturday, McGary said.

The Franklin County Sheriffs Office is investigating what happened and said late Saturday night that no foul play is suspected.
