Hanford High School honors classmate who drowned
Hanford High School students and staff held a moment of silence during graduation Friday nigh to honor a student who drowned Memorial Day.
Dmetri Kennedy-Woody's hat, cap and gown adorned a chair with his photo on it through the graduation. During the commencement ceremony, officials held a moment of silence in his memory.
Kennedy-Woody, who would have graduated Friday, drowned in the Yakima River after jumping in with several friends. His body was found Sunday.
