It was donuts. This time, Mattis goes for barbecue
Secretary of Defense James Mattis sure knows how to find good food when he returns home to the Tri-Cities.
During his visit this week, Mattis made a stop at Porter's Real Barbecue in Richland.
When he was in the Tri-Cities for Thanksgiving, the former Marine general and Richland native stopped in to his old haunt, the Spudnut Shop, for its signature donut.
Mattis gave the keynote address at Thursday's 46th annual Tri-Citian of the Year event. He is scheduled to speak at a sold-out gathering Saturday sponsored by Columbia Basin Veterans Opportunity Center and Columbia Basin College VETS.
