The hotel has 107 suites, each equipped with a kitchenette. The setup accommodates traveling medical professionals and construction crews looking for a place to call home during longer stays in the Tri-Cities.

It is at 2203 W. Argent St., next door to Courtyard by Marriott, which is another A-1 Hospitality property.

Both were built on land leased from the Port of Pasco and are meant to complement one another.

While Home2 Suites aims to fill a third or so of its room with extended-stay guests, Courtyard’s 99 rooms are designed with overnight travelers in mind.

The new property opened June 1 with 22 employees, said Taran Patel, managing principal for A-1.

Published rates are about $218 a night or about $1,100 for a five-night stay.

It typically takes a few months for a new property to stabilize. Patel anticipates scheduling a grand opening celebration this summer.

Patel is hopeful Home2 Suites will have a smoother debut than Courtyard.

A-1 opened Courtyard in February 2020, only a few weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic prompted widespread shutdowns that left it and most hotels struggling with few guests.

Home2 Suites opens as business development in the region promises to bring more temporary workers and executives to the area, many looking for a spot to stay for more than a night or two.

The $47 million project is being built by Fowler and is on time and on budget, Patel said.
