It’s staycation season. Stay in style at these 10 Tri-Cities Airbnbs

It’s about halfway through the meteorological summer. If you haven’t taken time for yourself yet, you may find yourself itching for a break from the norm.

While not everyone can take the time, effort or financial impact of a vacation every summer, studies show people need to take a vacation-style break from work every so often in order to remain efficient.

A common compromise is going on a staycation, making your hometown into a vacation destination with just a few lifestyle changes for a week, or even just a couple days. Staycations are a lot cheaper than going on vacation, but still offer the benefits of taking time for yourself.

A staycation in Tri-Cities could have an itinerary that includes wine tasting, live music and a visit to the Columbia River. But to really sell the staycation vibe, you can also get a local Airbnb for a change of scenery. There are many options to choose from, so you can make the best decision for your needs.

The Tri-City Herald has compiled a list of 10 desirable Airbnb stays around the area.

Tri-Cities Airbnbs for staycations

While there are apartments and shared spaces you can rent, these are all private spaces currently listed on Airbnb with some openings throughout the rest of summer. They’re listed in order of most affordable to most expensive.

Prices listed are approximate, as this may change depending on when you stay, when you book the stay and how many people you stay with. Hosts can also require a service and cleaning fee.

▪ Sun House - Kennewick

This guest house located right along the Columbia River is in the top 10% of homes in the area. Just three miles from Columbia Park, the centrally-located home includes one bedroom with a queen bed and an additional pull-out bed in the living room.

The rental includes onsite parking, a full kitchen, a patio with a fire pit, backyard with a trampoline and river views. There are exterior cameras at the front and back doors.

This summer, one night at the Sun House can be rented for as low as $143.

▪ The Study - An Ode to Literature - Kennewick

Just five minutes from nearby highways, this one bedroom, one bathroom home in Kennewick allows a maximum of two guests. It’s highly-rated, with a 4.92 score from nearly 200 reviews. Inspired by the relaxation provided by a good book, it’s designed for taking your mind off the world around you.

You’ll have the entire home to yourself and sleep in a king-sized bed. Room-darkening shades are included in the bedroom. Other amenities include a washer and dryer, dedicated workspace, full kitchen with basics included, a drip coffee maker and free parking.

This summer, stays cost about $145 per night.

▪ The ABC House - Richland

This three-bedroom Richland home can accommodate up to eight guests. Sleeping areas include a bedroom with a king bed, a bedroom with a queen bed, a bedroom with bunk beds and two sofa beds.

Renting the duplex means close access to the river, and comes with amenities like a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining area, a multi-use basement with a game shelf and air hockey table, a washer and dryer and parking included. Exterior cameras cover both yards and the driveway.

The ABC House has a two-night minimum for bookings, with summer dates starting around $302 for two nights.

▪ Josie’s Favorite Place - Kennewick

This one bedroom, one bathroom guesthouse in Kennewick can accommodate four guests. It’s in the top 5% of homes in the area, and is a guest favorite.

You’ll have the entire guesthouse to yourself during your stay. Pets are permitted with an additional fee of $10 per night. It’s a stylish property designed for relaxation, with amenities including a full kitchen with basics included, free parking, a washer and dryer and a combined shower and bath.

A one-night stay this summer costs around $154.

▪ The Rondivu - Kennewick

The Rondivu is in the top 5% of homes in the area, accommodating up to six guests with three bedrooms (one with a king bed and two with queen beds) and two bathrooms.

The home features a home theater with an authentic popcorn machine, and an outdoor lounge area with a hot tub, fire pit, kids playground and additional outdoor theater.
