The historic Artemis II lunar mission revealed never-before-seen images of the Moon and our galaxy.

NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen captured the images during their seven-hour flyby on April 6.

One of the photos shows a breathtaking view of our galaxy, the Milky Way.

Cameras on the Orion spacecraft also snapped the Moon during a solar eclipse, with NASA saying Saturn could be seen just below the Moon's bottom right edge.

Other stunning views of the Moon show its craters, as well as the dark and light portions of Earth.

The Artemis II mission launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on April 1 for a 10-day voyage around the Moon.

It safely returned to the Pacific Ocean off San Diego, California, on Friday, April 10.
