Kennewick to host largest outdoor pickleball tournament in Washington this month

More than 400 pickleball players will converge on the Tri-Cities this month for the state’s largest organized outdoor tournament.

Club 509 Pickleball hosts the 2025 Summer Classic June 19-22 at Lawrence Scott Park, 6020 W. Quinault Ave., Kennewick.

Visit Tri-Cities estimates the gathering will give the area a $200,000 boost.

The Summer Classic is billed as the state’s largest organized pickleball tournament on permanent, dedicated courts.

The city of Kennewick agreed to spend $1.3 million to create a 15-court pickleball center at Lawrence Scott in 2022, anticipating the complex would attract top-level players to outdoor tournaments.

The new complex debuted in 2023 with a picnic shelter and expanded bathrooms.
