After three years, a Richland Italian restaurant has closed after losing its lease because the building is being sold.

Napoli’s Italian Restaurant, owned by Tony and Valle Morina, opened at the far north end of George Washington Way, near the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory complex, in 2023.

It took over the spot of another Italian eatery, Venezia Ristorante, and served a full menu of homemade dishes. Photos posted on Facebook show a variety of pasta specialties with seafood, salads and rolls.

Community members posted on Facebook and said the restaurant at 3280 George Washington Way closed Saturday, May 30.

Others have posted that Napoli’s is looking for another locations in the Tri-Cities to lease.

County records show the building is owned Sotirios S. Xantheas, a PNNL researcher, who bought the 3,000-square-foot, stand-alone restaurant and land from the Port of Benton in 2015 for about $85,000.

Xantheas told the Herald he is in the process of selling the space to a new owner who plans to open a new restaurant.
