New restaurant opens in prominent Richland spot built for Dupus Boomer’s along GWay
Hyde Tap and Lounge is now open in central Richland following a lengthy renovation.
The new restaurant debuted last week in the former Dupus Boomer’s and later Flight Tap and Barrel spot.
Hyde is led by Lissette Alvarez and Patrick Canizal, who updated the look of the prominent 7,500 square-foot, two-story building at the corner of Swift and George Washington.
Alvarez and Canizal aim to offer an upscale environment with elevated menu items while still delivering a casual vibe in the bar area with sports airing on numerous TVs.
They serve craft cocktails and a long list of Northwest brews from a custom wall of taps, as well as ciders and wine.
The menu is varied, beginning with a range of appetizers and handhelds, such as an Al Pastor chicken torta to a Hyde burger and a shrimp po’ boy.
Their entrees — with prices starting at $24 — include Richland-based Atomic Ale battered fish and chips to a Northwest favorite, king salmon.
For a real spurge, they offer an Australian Wagyu steak with chimichurri rojo sauce, horseradish cream and a balsamic glaze for $90.
Hours are 11 am.-10 p.m., Sunday to Wednesday, and 11 a.m.-11 p.m., Thursday to Saturday.

Swift and Gway
An estimated 40,000 vehicles a day reportedly pass the corner of George Washington Way and Swift Blvd. — including commuters to the Hanford nuclear reservation, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Washington State University Tri-Cities.
The two-story restaurant with wrap-around outdoor deck was built to house Dupus Boomer’s Downtown, named for a 1940s era Manhattan Project cartoon.
The family-friendly venue was meant to anchor Richland’s revival of its downtown corridor but only operated a little more than a year before it closed in late 2017.
At one time, there was hope the restaurant with its expansive second floor and sweeping patio would provide beautiful views once Swift Boulevard was extended toward the Columbia River.
It stood vacant until 2021, when it was transformed into the taproom-themed venue, Flight Tap & Table. But that closed in 2024.
