Recently we asked Herald readers about what businesses they want to see come to the Tri-Cities.

Options ranged from a second Costco to Chick-Fil-A and other popular choices.

It seems apparent that Tri-Citians are desperate for more variety when it comes to grocery stores. More than 75% of the vote was split between three grocery stores: Costco, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods.

The ever-popular Trader Joe’s led the poll with 48% of the vote.

Demand seems to just keep growing as developer after developer attempts to court the elusive, upscale grocer. Several active developments have been open about hoping to snag the coveted first for the Tri-Cities.

In second place was a second Costco with 20%.

The big box club retailer seemed like they were eyeing the Broadmoor development in Pasco, but publicly pulled back last year.

The developer still hopes to change its mind once infrastructure is in place, thanks to a $70 million special taxing district setup by the developer and the city of Pasco.

Chick-Fil-A managed to snag 13% of our vote for a third place finish, putting them just above Whole Foods.

In and Out Burger rounded out the top five.

The write-in votes were varied and interesting, ranging from several votes for Cheesecake Factory, Chili’s and Cracker Barrel restaurants to surprising choices like an Apple Store and a Sizzler’s (Remember those?).

Check out our most recent poll, and tell us what’s your favorite breakfast spot is in the Tri-Cities.
