New food truck pays homage to artist+Another food truck set to open new restaurant
A Tri-Cities food truck is making the leap to a storefront.
Picante Mexican Taqueria is opening a brick and mortar restaurant in downtown Kennewick, just shy of its 2-year anniversary.
Picante first opened in January 2020 and has been a hit ever since.
Their creative recipes set the taqueria apart, with handmade tortillas in a variety of flavors throughout the year. The tortillas made with pablano and cheese are a huge hit.
They also offer one-of-a-kind breakfast burritos and specials on their “secret menu,” including the Baked Papa, a huge baked potato with taco fillings.
Picante Mexican Taqueria will be at 20 S. Auburn St., in the old home of 4th Base Pizza and for many years before that O’Henry’s Go-Go restaurant.
They’re close to opening, according to a social media post, but have not yet announced a date. The owners told the Herald they’re hoping to open sometime in December. A health inspection is pending.
