New Pasco restaurant will have multiple Instagram-worthy offerings from one kitchen
How many Instagram-worthy restaurants can you fit in one kitchen? A Pasco restaurant currently in the works has a surprising answer.
Mike Kohloff said that when he left the Army, his family knew they wanted to open a restaurant, but it was a lot of work.
When his day job in IT eventually brought him to the Tri-Cities as a project manager at Hanford, they started investing in rental properties, which he said also turned out to be a lot of work.
Now he’s set to open the area’s first Dog Haus, which will be seven restaurants in one kitchen.
He hopes it will be a destination for foodies looking to show off something delicious, and unique, on social media.
“It’s the Absolute Brands. When we open I’ll technically be opening seven restaurants,” he said. “My biggest hope is I can bring something we don’t have to the Tri-Cities.”
It will be Dog Haus on the marquis, but customers can order from any of the unique brands, each specializing in a different type of “elevated” food.
With Dog Haus customers will get gourmet hot dogs, brats, sausages and burgers on King’s Hawaiian rolls, or they can “corndog” any of the links. You’ve heard of beer-battered? Well, they’re giving it a twist with root beer-battered flavors.
“It’s a different take on a high escalated burger or hot dog offering,” Kohloff said. “Its’ something new and fresh that we don’t really have here. Hormone free, organic locally raised meat, a full vegetarian line.”
Some flavors include: the Sooo Cali with wild arugula, spicy basil aioli, avocado, tomato and crispy onions; the Downtown, which features a bacon-wrapped dog topped with caramelized onions, pickled peppers and condiments; and the Oldtown, which is a bacon-wrapped dog with caramelized onions, chipotle aioli, pickled jalapenos and cotija cheese.
They’ll also be home to: Big Belly Burgers, offering towering gourmet burgers; Jailbird’s “criminally good” chicken wings and tenders; Bad Mutha Clucka Nashville-style chicken sandwiches; Bad-Ass Breakfast Burrito, offering twists on the time honored tradition, day or night; Huevos Dias breakfast tacos; and Plant B with a full menu of meat alternatives.
They’ll also have a full bar, with 24 beers on tap.
Kohloff recently posted some photos to his social media, and was blown away when the response blew up with hundreds of shares within hours.
“I did not expect my little post to my friends to let them know we’re getting closer to expand so far out of my bubble,” he said.
They’re hoping to open sometime in January, provided supply chain issues don’t slow the process down. Commercial kitchen appliances are some of the items still most impacted by a global supply chain slowdown this year.
Kohloff said the enthusiasm has been encouraging and is excited to get the doors open and begin work on their next location.
Expansion is already in the works, Kohloff has the franchise rights for up to three locations in southeast Washington.
The Pasco location is at 7425 Sandifur Parkway, near the intersection of Sandifur and Road 68.
