House Russia probe in chaos over news Trump found in foreign surveillance reports

Two days after the directors of the FBI and the National Security Agency publicly repudiated Trump’s tweeted allegations about being wiretapped at Trump Tower by the Obama administration, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes tried Wednesday to revive those allegations with confusing revelations that Trump and his advisers turned up intelligence reports derived from court-ordered foreign surveillance. Democrats immediately cried foul, saying Nunes had shown himself unqualified to run an objective investigation by going public with the information before he’d shared it with other members of the committee.

On Feb. 15, scientists and staff from the National Science Foundation’s Amundsen Scott Station at the South Pole boarded a specially equipped Air National Guard C-130 for the last scheduled flight from the South Pole for nine months. During the Antarctic winter, it gets so cold that hydraulic lines and other mechanical systems freeze, making air travel to the South Pole hazardous.
