WHL Playoffs Game 2: Tri-City at Spokane

Here we are again at Spokane Arena. Game 2 tonight between the Tri-City Americans and Spokane Chiefs. Spokane won Game 1 on Friday 4-1.

Another uneventful drive up 395, but I do want to register a complaint with Subway for the poor service at Ritzville. Since they don't feed us a pregame meal in Spokane, I stop for a sandwich to eat when I get here. So two days in a row, two days of poor service. I need a new place for the next trek up here.

Watched a little basketball before leaving today. I come from a big basketball family — size wise and game wise. I have brothers who are 6-5 and 6-4 and my sister played at Whitman College. My dad coached high school ball for 20 years in Helix (that's a small farming community in Eastern Oregon).

My bracket has taken a beating in a couple of regions, but my Elite 8 is still intact.

Watched some NCAA ladies, too. Nice that Gonzaga and Idaho got invited to the Dance. Gonzaga made it through the event, but had to find a ride home (2 or 3 blocks for most players) after a 72-60 loss to Iowa State. Idaho got all dolled up, but was left standing on the porch as UConn cruised to a 105-37 win.

The doors opened early here tonight. It's Dollar Dog night. Not a fan myself, but I'm seeing folks with 2 and 3 dogs in their hands.

Connor Rankin and Drydn Dow are playing closest to the circle. This has been a pregame ritual all season. I wonder if they keep track of wins and losses.

The Americans need to have a better effort tonight if they want to head home with the series tied at one game each. I see the officials are different. Tonight we have Jeff Ingram and Sean Raphael. They were in Kamloops last night. They can't be worse than Iverson and Benbow in Game 1.

Starting lineups are the same as Game 1. Troy Trombley in net for Ams, while Eric Williams for Spokane.
