Spokane in search of 1,000th win

The Spokane Chiefs will be looking for the franchise's 1,000th victory today when they go on the road to play the Kamloops Blazers.

The Chiefs entered the Western Hockey League with a 7-4 road loss to the Blazers on Oct. 4, 1985. The Chiefs led that game 3-0 at 5:24 of the first period.

The Chiefs will play their 2,000th game in franchise history on Feb. 10 when they host the Victoria Royals.

Spokane has played 1,994 games and has posted an all-time record of 999-836 with 159 games finishing in a tie, shootout loss or overtime loss. Overall, Spokane sports an all-time winning percentage of .540.
