Game Day: Vancouver at Tri-City

The Vancouver Giants are in town for the first meeting between the teams this season. Tri-City was 3-0-0-1 against the Giants last year.

The Giants, 3-7-0-0 in its their last 10 games, are coming off a 6-3 win over the Kootenay on Saturday.

Kennewick native Taylor Vickerman is starting at left wing for the Giants. For those keeping track, he's wearing No. 26. In 9 games, Vickerman is scoreless with 7 penalty minutes and a minus-3 rating. Hope to get a few minutes of his time after the game.

Vancouver will start Payton Lee in goal. On the scratch list are G Liam Liston (lower body), Cain Franson (upper body), Tanner Mort (upper body), Thomas Foster (upper body) and Stewart Coyle, who is a healthy scratch.

Brenden Fiebelkorn is getting his first start for the Americans this season. He played his first minutes of the season last Sunday at Portland. Eric Comrie is due a night off, and Brenden needs the experience. I'm excited to see how all this pans out.

The Americans, in their third consecutive home game this week, are 2-0 going into tonight's game.

On the Tri-City scratch list are Brodie Clowes (shoulder), Phil Tot (upper body), Ryan Chynoweth (shoulder) and Jesse Mychan (leg).

Tri-City captain Justin Feser is moving up in the record books.

With 2 goals Saturday against Red Deer, he passed Bill Lindsay or 8th on the Americans all-time list with 121. He also tied Eric Johansson for 11th on the all-time scoring list with 266 points.
