Timbers’ reserves top Sounders’
Portland defeated the Sounders, 2-0, in an MLS Reserve League match Tuesday night at Starfire Sports Stadium in Tukwila.
The Timbers jumped ahead in the fourth minute on a headed own-goal by Sounders defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado. Forward Bright Dike scored in the 23rd minute.
Seattle’s best chance may have come from Sammy Ochoa in the 84th minute, but Portland defender Ryan Kawulok swept the ball high over the goal. The Sounders reserves fell to 0-1-1 on the season.
