Americans blow out Prince George 7-2
The Tri-City Americans blew open a close game with a four-goal third period Saturday night to beat the Prince George Cougars 7-2 at Toyota Center.
Parker Bowles and Jordan Topping each had two goals for Tri-City, while Bowles, Tyler Sandhu, Dylan Coghlan and Parker Wotherspoon all had two assists.
The Americans (30-28-2-1, 63 points) still are four points back of the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference, which has Spokane and Kamloops in a tie.
Rookie Nick Sanders, getting his second consecutive start, finished with 32 saves for Tri-City, which plays at Everett today.
Chase Witala and Brad Morrison scored for the Cougars (33-26-3-1, 70 points).
