Several Tri-City Americans players held over for NHL main camps
Tri-City Americans defenseman Brandon Carlo was held over for the Boston Bruins’ main camp.
The training camp, which began Thursday with off-ice testing, will run through Sunday.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pound Carlo, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., was a second-round pick in June’s NHL draft. The Bruins selected him 37th overall.
Parker Wotherspoon, a fourth-round pick of the New York Islanders in June’s NHL draft, was held over for main camp. The 6-foot, 171-pound defenseman is a native of Surrey, British Columbia.
Tri-City forwards Austyn Playfair and Maxwell James, who got free-agent invites to the Arizona Coyotes’ rookie camp, were held over for main camp that begins today.
The 6-3, 230-pound James is a native of Kamloops, British Columbia, while Playfair (6-5, 216) is from Fort St. James, British Columbia.
Also attending the Arizona camp is former Tri-City forward Brendan Shinnimin, who plays for the Portland Pirates (AHL).
