Americans’ Rasmussen helps Team WHL to win over Russia
Tri-City captain Michael Rasmussen was one of six players with a multi-point night as Team WHL shut out Team Russia on Monday in the first game of the Canada Russia Series in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Rasmussen had two assists and a plus-2 rating as Team WHL cruised to a 7-0 victory. Carter Hart (Everett) became the third WHL goaltender in event history to record a full 60-minute shutout, finishing with 20 saves.
Kole Lind (Kelowna) had two goals and an assists for Teams WHL, while Cody Glass (Portland), Brett Howden (Moose Jaw) and Dillon Dube (Kelowna) each had a goal and an assist, and Kale Clague (Brandon) three assists.

Game 2 of the series was Tuesday in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The Ontario Hockey League will host Games 3 and 4, while the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will host Games 5 and 6.
Since the event first began in 2003, the CHL teams have a 58-19-1-6 record against Russia.
