Tri-City closes out preseason with loss to Spokane

The Tri-City Americans wrapped up their preseason schedule Saturday with a 6-2 loss to the Spokane Chiefs at Toyota Center.

Spokane jumped out to a 4-0 lead early the second period, getting two goals by Riley Woods in the run.

Tri-City pulled within 4-2 by the end of the second with goals by Parker AuCoin and Brett Leason.

The Chiefs would put two more pucks past Beck Warm in the third for the final score.

Warm finished with 31 saves on the night.

Tri-City and Spokane do not play each other again at Toyota Center until Dec. 2.

The Americans, who were 4-3-1 in the preseason, will open the regular season Sept. 23 at Seattle, then play the following night at Everett.

Tri-City will host Everett in its season opener Sept. 30.
