Fever hit the road to take on Danger

The Tri-Cities Fever are on the road today in search of its first victory of the young IFL season.

Coming off a 61-50 loss to the Spokane Empire in last week’s season-opener, the Fever travel to Grand Island, Neb., to take on the Danger (5:05 p.m., KONA 610 AM), which is making its season debut.

Nebraska returns just a handful of players from last year’s squad, which topped the Fever 86-43 in the Intense Conference championship game, ending Tri-Cities’ season.

However, one of those returners is IFL MVP Jameel Sewell, a dual-threat quarterback who threw for 38 touchdowns and just three interceptions and also ran for 525 yards (second in the IFL) and 20 TDs.

Tri-Cities had trouble with early turnovers last week before hitting its stride. QB Hunter Wanket finished 21 for 35 for 213 yards and four touchdowns. DeJay Lester caught three of those TDs, and Dejuan Miller had 10 catches for 84 yards and a score.
