Fever announces signings of 4 players
The Tri-Cities Fever on Wednesday announced the signings of wide receiver Austin Dotson, defensive end Pat Wertz, linebacker Joe Thornton and quarterback Patrick McCain.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound Dotson, who played college football at Sacramento State, appeared in nine Indoor Football League games this season with the Nebraska Danger.
Wertz (6-4, 265) was a four-year starter at Eastern Illinois University before joining the New Orleans VooDoo of the Arena Football League.
Thornton (6-1, 232) played for Tri-Cities in 2010 and spent the next three IFL seasons with the Colorado Ice. After leaving Colorado, he had a brief stint in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes.
McCain (6-4, 230) graduated this year from Jacksonville University. He had a QB rating of 116.4 in 2014.
