Tri-Cities Fever signs 2 players, releases 2
The Tri-Cities Fever signed defensive tackle Demonte McAllister and defensive back Steven Bethley.
The 6-foot-2, 295-pound McAllister won the BCS national title last season with Florida State. After graduating, he joined the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent but did not make the final roster.
Bethley (5-11, 210) earned all-Big Sky Conference honors in three of his four seasons at Montana State. He finished his college career with 163 tackles, six interceptions and 15 passes broken up.
Meanwhile, the Fever released offensive lineman Andrew Faaumu, a graduate assistant for the Western Oregon football team, and wide receiver Oliver “Tre” Young, who continues to recover from injuries suffered last season.
