Indoor football: Tri-Cities Fever brings in former NFL running back

The Tri-Cities Fever signed running back Jay Finley on Wednesday.

The 5-foot-11, 205-pound Finley was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL draft, but was most recently a member of the Seattle Seahawks practice squad.

Finley, 25, had a successful career at Baylor University, where he broke the team’s single-season rushing record his senior season with 1,218 yards. Finley also had the second longest run in Baylor history at 82 yards his senior season when he and teammates Robert Griffin III and Kendall Wright led Baylor to the 2010 Texas Bowl.

“When you watch Jay Finley on film, his abilities to both run between the tackles and catch the football jump off the screen,” Fever coach Adam Shackleford said in a press release.
