Fever gets lost in the cold in IFL loss to Blizzard

For three quarters Saturday night, it looked like the Tri-Cities Fever might get its second victory of the Indoor Football League season.

But things fell apart in the final quarter, as the host Green Bay Blizzard scored three touchdowns — all on Spencer Ohm scoring passes — to defeat the visiting Fever 66-54.

Fever quarterback Dante Warren fumbled the ball away in the fourth quarter, and the Tri-Cities offense couldn’t get into the end zone in four tries from the Green Bay 7.

But Tri-Cities coach Adam Shackleford said the biggest problem was his team’s defense.

“Our defense didn’t stop anybody all night,” he said. “That’s embarrassing. We’ve got to get some things fixed on defense. We can’t give up 66 points in a game.”

The Blizzard rolled up 367 yards of total offense, compared to 219 for the Fever.

Ohm was 19-for-27 passing for 275 yards and seven touchdown passes Warren had just 107 yards passing, but he had five TD passes and rushed for 66 yards and another score.

Ryan Balentine led the way for the Blizzard with 11 catches for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
