Columbia River to close May 30 as hydroplanes hit Tri-Cities. What you’ll see

The H1 Unlimited field will be in the Tri-Cities on May 30 for the annual Spring Testing.

The Columbia River will be closed to normal traffic between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. that day.

Expect nine unlimited hydroplanes and their teams to spend time on the course, as well as three Grand Prix Association boats.

The boats will have the course from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost to park is $5 that day, with all proceeds benefitting a local Scout troop supporting youth leadership and service projects.

Food trucks should also be on site, as well as kids’ games.
