Kennewick American wins opening game at Cal Ripken 12s World Series
Kennewick American opened play at the Cal Ripken 12s World Series with a 12-1 victory Sunday over Middle Atlantic in Aberdeen, Md.
Kennewick, playing as Pacific Northwest, opened the game with two runs in the bottom of the first with a two-run single by Simeon Howard.
KA added six more runs in the fourth, two coming off a double by Cash Hailey and RBI singles by Eric Bauman and Ayden Knapik. Bauman also hit a grand slam in the fifth inning.
Myles Mayovsky picked up the win, scattering three hits while striking out six in five innings of work.
Kennewick will play Ohio Valley at 9:30 a.m. on Monday.
