Local roundup: Angels softball team ousted from 18U World Series
The Washington Angels 18 Gold-Benson softball team was eliminated from the Triple Crown Sports 18U World Series, losing to Salt Lake Pegasus-White 4-3 on Friday in Park City, Utah.
AyJay Mulholland (Kamiakin) went 3-for-3 with two runs scored for Washington.
Brandi Andrews (Richland) allowed four hits in four innings, and Dominique Martinez (Othello) tripled and drove in two runs as the Angels beat the Washington LadyHawks Blue 9-1 earlier Friday to advance in the Gold bracket.

YOUTH BASEBALL
The Kennewick AAA Outlaws scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge the DeMarini Renegades (Port Orchard) 4-3 at the Red Devil Classic in Centralia.
The Renegades put up all of their runs in the sixth against Kennewick starter Gerald Hein, who allowed five hits and struck out six. Fabian Green came on in the seventh and shut down DeMarini.
Dillon Plew and Garrett Dixon accounted for four of Kennewick’s eight hits.
The Outlaws beat Lower Columbia Baseball Club 8-1 in their Red Devil Classic opener Thursday.
Mason Martin drove in four runs for Kennewick, and Hunter Mulderig struck out 13 and didn’t give up a hit in 5 1/3 innings of relief. The Outlaws allowed three hits for the game.

▪ The Hanford AAA Flames split with the Central Washington Spuds on Thursday night at Waits Field, losing the first game 8-7 but winning the nightcap 7-5. Trevor Smith had five hits and five RBIs in the doubleheader for Hanford.
One of his hits was a three-run homer in the seventh inning of Game 1.

GOLF
Ryan Dahl of Horn Rapids Golf Course was tied for fourth at 6-under-par 66 after the first round of the Rosauers Open Invitational at MeadowWood Golf Course in Liberty Lake.
Andrew Whalen of Lakeview Golf and Country Club in Soap Lake shot a 64 for a one-stroke lead over fellow amateur Joe Harvie of the Classic Golf Club in Spanaway and Brian Thornton of Meridian Valley CC in Kent.
Brady Sharp of Walla Walla Country Club was tied for 15th at 69.
Meanwhile, Nick Atkin of Canyon Lakes Golf Course and Derek Siesser of The Creek at Qualchan were the low professionals at 7-under-par 65 in the Umpqua Bank Pro-Am at MeadowWood. Sharp tied for sixth at 67.
