▪ Meeting for all baseball players interested in trying out for the Kennewick Outlaws Senior Legion team will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, at Roy Johnson Field. Meeting will be for information purposes. The first round of tryouts will be held at 10 a.m. April 3 at Roy Johnson Field. This round will be for all players who attend Kennewick or Southridge High School, players from last year who have eligibility remaining and players who have Form 77 completed or Form 76 signed. The final round of tryouts will be at 10 a.m. April 24 at Roy Johnson Field. This round will be open to all players looking to play Senior Legion baseball. If you are coming from another organization, you must have Form 76 signed.

▪ Golf Universe is offering a “Get the Game Ready” four-week series hosted by Jeff Bender and Nick Atkin on Tuesdays (5-6 p.m. on Feb. 9, 16, 23) and Saturdays (3-4 p.m. on Feb. 13, 20, 27). Cost is $100 per person, and the clinics are limited to the first five students. Topics include iron, driver, fairway, hybrid and wedge work, cause-and-effect ball flight and practical application of swing philosophies. ▪ The Washington Junior Golf Association will hold the Eastern Open April 30-May 1 at Sun Willows Golf Course. The event is open to all current WJGA members. ▪ The Sun Willows Ladies League Kickoff is March 3. Breakfast is at 8 a.m. at Sun Willows Café and costs $9.50 per person (including gratuity). A meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m., followed by golf at 9 a.m. Sign-up sheets are on the ladies bulletin board and in the pro shop. People must be signed up for breakfast and/or golf by Feb. 24. A league membership is $60, and an associate membership costs $35.

▪ The Buckskin Ladies Golf League will have a kickoff meeting at 9:15 a.m. March 2 at the Buckskin Golf Course. Coffee and goodies will be served. A scramble will be played after the meeting, and beginners are welcome. Dues are $20 for the season.

▪ The Sun Willows Ladies Golf League begins the 2016 Tuesday GANGSOME on March 8. Newcomers with a current handicap are welcome and should arrive no later than 9 a.m. Draw for teams is at 9:15, with first tee time 9:30. League continues through October. Information: Janet Decker at 509-547-1203.

▪ The NFL Flag Football Program, a noncontact league for boys and girls in kindergarten through 12th grade, is accepting player registrations. League play will begin in April. Early registration lasts through Feb. 19, while the regular registration period is Feb. 20-March 4. The cost for Richland residents is $48 (early registration)/$58 (regular). For nonresidents, the cost is $60 (early registration)/$72.50 (regular). Games will be played at Columbia Point Marina Park and possibly Badger Mountain Community Park. ▪ Registration has begun for the Southridge High School Boys Lacrosse Club. Registration runs through February. The season runs from March to May. The club is a WSHBLA-sanctioned lacrosse club catering to all high school-aged boys attending Southridge, Kennewick, Kamiakin, Burbank and Walla Walla high schools. ▪ The Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility Rose-Iris General Purpose Range is open to the public for weekly target shooting from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesdays and Friday-Sunday. Located near milepost 8 on State Route 225, north of Benton City. Each adult non-member shooter must pay a $10 fee. Persons under 18 years old may shoot for free when accompanied by a parent, guardian or grandparent. The Tri-Cities Shooting Association provides a staff of trained Range Safety Officers.
