BLUE MOUNTAIN 3, COLUMBIA BASIN 0: Playing at home for the first time since Sept. 16, the Hawks were shaky early against the Timberwolves and paid the price in the NWAC East match.
Kelly Dyer had 10 digs, and Kelly Wilson finished with 30 assists for CBC (8-19 overall, 5-2 league), which lost the first set 25-16.
“We started out slow in the first game,” CBC coach Sandra Olin said. “I think we were ready for the match tonight. We just made too many errors right off the bat in that first game.”
The Hawks stayed close with the Timberwolves (28-7, 8-0) in the second and third sets until Blue Mountain pulled away to win both by 25-19 scores.
“I really love the way the girls competed today from our side of the net and theirs,” Olin said. “I think my girls have come a long way, but I think it came down to a few plays at the end.”
