Volleyball: Southridge wins Hillsboro Tournament
The Southridge Suns won the Hillsboro Tournament on Saturday, beting Cleveland 25-15, 25-12 in the champiohsip match.
Southridge opened play with three pool play victories, beating Cleveland 25-17, 25-15, host Hillsboro 25-4, 25-1, and Centennial (Gresham) 25-15, 25-11.
In the semifinals, Southridge beat Beaverton 25-6, 25-13.
On the day, Kimmy Brinkworth had 36 kills and six blocks, while Jordan Mix added 29 kills and 25 digs, Alyssa Palmer 26 kills and 20 digs, Makenna Behrens 39 digs and nine aces, Rylee Russell 15 digs and Kylie Fraga 112 assists and 10 aces.
Richland jamboree: Kamiakin went undefeated in the Richland volleyball jamboree, going 6-0.
Kennewick and Richland both went 4-2, while Chiawana and Pasco finished 3-3. Hanford was 1-5, and Sunnyside ended 0-6.
Grandview jamboree: Prosser knocked off the hosts for the first time in eight years, defeating the Greyhounds 18-25, 25-17, 25-18 in exhibition action.
Earlier, Prosser lost 25-16, 25-13, 25-12 to East Valley.
