Mid-Columbia boys basketball roundup for Jan. 23: Kamiakin rallies to beat Hanford

Hayden Nelson scored 19 points to go with seven rebounds, and the host Kamiakin boys basketball team fought back from a late deficit to defeat Hanford 47-43 on Saturday night.

“We were able to make enough plays to get over the hump,” said Kamiakin coach Brian Meneely, whose team improved to 13-3 overall and 7-3 in the Mid-Columbia Conference. “Always important to find a way to win when you’re not at your best.”

Ben Seaman had 15 points for Hanford (4-11, 2-7), while the Falcons’ leading scorer, Jacob Sivonen, was held to four. Sivonen entered the game fifth in the MCC with an average of 17.8 points per contest.

RICHLAND 83, PASCO 34: Landon Radliff had 20 points, six assists and four steals, and Steven Beo had 18 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds — both sat out the fourth quarter — to lead the Bombers to an MCC blowout.

Richland (12-3, 9-0) shot 61 percent (30-for-49) from the floor and had 29 assists for the game.

“Last night against Walla Walla, we didn’t share it very well,” Bombers coach Earl Streufert said. “Tonight, we did a great job of that, and it led to a lot of good, open shots.”

Kaleb Ash scored 10 points and Emilio Davila nine for the Bulldogs (2-14, 1-9).
