Boys Mid-Columbia roundup: Cazier helps Riverhawks top Braves
Cayden Cazier scored 23 points, Chandler Hansen had 21, and the Chiawana boys basketball team exploded in the second half Friday for a 74-60 Mid-Columbia Conference win at home.
Andrey Voloshin added 14 points and Isaiah Groce 13 for Chiawana (9-4, 4-3), which outscored the Braves 48-29 after the half.
Hayden Nelson had a monster night for Kamiakin (10-4, 4-4) with 28 points and 12 rebounds. Isaiah Brimmer added 15 points and Garrett Paxton 14.
Both teams shot well from the free-throw line. Kamiakin was 14-for-18 (78 percent), while Chiawana was a staggering 31-for-33 (94 percent).
