Baseball: Hanford's Enderlin hits walkoff home run
The scouting report on Hanford catcher Aaron Enderlin is don’t groove a fastball to him or he’ll make you pay.
But the Falcons’ 5-foot-10 senior has the patience to wait out an offspeed pitch, too.
Enderlin teed off on a 2-1 changeup from Mt. Spokane reliever Mike Walker with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, sending it over the wall for a walk-off three-run home run in Hanford’s 8-6 win over the Wildcats on Saturday at Waits Field in Richland.
“We gave up a couple of home runs at the end of the game, but a couple guys battled to get on base, setting it up for Enderlin,” Falcons’ coach Tom DeWitz said. “(Walker) left an offspeed pitch up a little bit, and Aaron hit it pretty well.”Brady Heid added a pair of hits and scored three runs for Hanford.
