Roundup: Southridge, Kennewick, Richland baseball sweep MCC openers
Bryce Grigg drove in five runs and Chad Crider three to spearhead a bounty of offense for Southridge in a 17-7 win over visiting Chiawana on Friday in the second game of the Mid-Columbia Conference twinbill.
Bradley Morgan threw five innings of no-hit ball for the Suns in the the opener, a 10-0 win in the MCC debut for both squads. Morgan struck out six.
Jashaun Simon was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs for Southridge in the first game.
Anthony Vega and Brayden Childs each had two hits for Chiawana in the second game.

CBC 7-5, BMCC 1-0: Sarah Gilliam (Southridge) threw five shutout innings in Game 2, helping the Hawks secure an NWAC East sweep of the Timberwolves in Pasco.
Kayla Andrews (Richland) earned a complete-game win in the opener, striking out 11 and giving up four hits, and closed out the second game.
Andrews also went 5-for-7 on the afternoon with five RBIs for the Hawks (16-6 overall, 8-2 NWAC East), who pulled into a tie for second place in the region with North Idaho. The Hawks will host first-place Walla Walla today.

Southridge scored four runs in the seventh, with Brittney Yocom tying the game with a double and Bailey Monteith following with a two-run single.

JOE LENBERG CLASSIC: Richland’s Evan Hattori tied for fifth overall with an even-par 72, and three more Bombers finished in the top 12 for a team victory at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima.
Rhett Levin finished eighth at 75, followed by Nick Yamauchi (10th, 77) and Carl Underwood (12th, 78). Richland finished 10 strokes ahead of second-place West Valley.
Walla Walla’s Parker Dressler also shot 72 to place fifth, leading the Blue Devils to third in the team race at 313. Alex Johnson shot 78 to tie for 12th.
Kamiakin was fourth beind the 10th-place finish of McGuire Hanson with a 77.
