Kamiakin’s Donais shines at Ram Relays
Kamiakin’s Heather Donais dominated the competition at the Ram Relays in Yakima, winning the 300-meter hurdles Saturday in a meet record 45.68 seconds and running a leg on two winning relay teams.
The Kamiakin girls sprint medley team of Izzy Conover, Britney Donais, Heather Donais and Mirranda Shulman set the meet and stadium record with a time of 1:51.35.
The Braves’ Lindsey Lowe added to the win column, taking first in the 3,200 in 11:56.39. Teammate McKinzi Teeples was second in 11:59.60.
Kamiakin’s Wyatt Musser, who threw a school-record 166 feet, 6 inches in the discus Wednesday at Richland, found himself with some competion Saturday. But his throw of 165-8 was good enough for the win by 25 inches. Musser also was second in the shot put (50-9).
Walla Walla’s Alex Iben won the 1,600 (4:24.06), while Phillip Fishburn of Kamiakin won the 3,200 (9:35.43) as the two Mid-Columbia Conference distance runners kept their distance from each other.
The Hanford boys won the sprint medley relay (1:39.63), while Southridge won the 4x200 relay (1:35.39), Chiawana’s Romas Ruiz took the pole vault (14-6) and Kamiakin’s Garrett Paxton the 300 hurdles (41.26).
Amanda Andersen of Hanford won the girls pole vault (10-0), while Pasco’s Angela Cardon won the long (18-0) and triple jumps (37-2 1 1/2), and Walla Walla’s Erika Leinweber won the 1,600 (5:19.35).

Football
Southridge High School hired Keith Munson as its football coach. He replaces Tony Reiboldt, who resigned after last season.
Munson, 48, was the defensive coordinator at Belen High School (N.M) last year.
Munson, who played college football at Montana Tech, has 22 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level.

RICHLAND 4, SOUTHRIDGE 3: Adam Weissenfels hit a go-ahead RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to help the Bombers to a nonleague win over the Suns in Kennewick.
