Southridge sweeps Coeur d’Alene in baseball
Brad Morgan, Ryan Sanders and Mason Martin combined on a five-inning no-hitter as Southridge beat Coeur d’Alene 10-0 in the first game of their nonleague doubleheader in Kennewick.
“We were just trying to get work for our guys,” Suns coach Tim Sanders said. “They all had their moment. They were in the zone and pitched pretty well.”
Ethan Sanders drove in three runs and Kyle Harvey two for the Suns (5-0).
In the second game, the Suns overcame four errors to beat the Vikings 5-2.
Harvey had a double and drove in two runs, while Martin also hit a double and Jake Harvey a triple.
“We’ve obviously pitched good, situational we have hit good, but we do have to polish up on the defense,” Sanders said. “We have allowed too many errors. That is a credit to be able to pitch out of those situations and be able to make plays after that. We have been fortunate in that regard.”
The Suns will host Richland on Saturday.
