Kamiakin girls advance to 3A state basketball semifinals

The Kamiakin girls survived a furious rally by Edmonds-Woodway to defeat the Warriors 56-54 on Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A Hardwood Classic in Tacoma.

Kamiakin shot out to a 26-6 first-quarter lead, but E-W (16-11) outscored the Braves 32-14 over the second and third quarters to make it a game.

The Braves (15-10) will face Arlington (23-1) or Lincoln of Tacoma (24-1) in a semifinal at 9 p.m. Friday at the Tacoma Dome.
