Mid-Columbia basketball roundup for Jan. 26: Southridge boys rally to beat Hanford

Gabe Vorheis had a game-high 26 points for Southridge, which trailed by four at halftime but came back to beat visiting Hanford 57-47 in Mid-Columbia Conference action Tuesday night.

Southridge (8-8, 6-4 MCC) outscored Hanford 34-20 in the second half, but the Suns led by two entering the final quarter.

Will Eldred scored 18 points for the Falcons (4-12, 2-8), while Ben Seaman had 16.

KIONA-BENTON 64, CONNELL 56: The Bears closed on a 14-1 run in the final 3 minutes to hand the host Eagles their first SCAC East loss of the season.

Nate Rossine finished with 19 points for Ki-Be (13-5, 6-2), while Darrel Wheeler had 14 points and 17 rebounds.

“We needed that win to stay alive for the league title,” Ki-Be coach Dennis Janikowski said. “We didn’t want them to clinch the league title on us.”

Silas Chase scored 20 points for Connell (13-4, 7-1). Gabe Tolrud had 14 points, and Brenden Turner contributed 10.
